Sausage Sizzle Night

Well hello hello hello ! How has your week been? A good one I hope. Here in the Little Blue Door household we have had another busy, busy, busy week, but with something utterly delicious to look forward to at the end of it. This Saturday we will be hosting our annual Sausage Sizzle night, for fifty of our close friends. There will be fireworks, there will be sparklers, and yes, there will be lots and lots of sausages! There will even be a 'hot chocolate bar' complete with whipped cream and marshmallows. Oh how delicious! Actually, I say 'annual' like its something we've done for years, but the truth is, this is only the second year we've held it. However, I do very much hope that this lovely, sausagey, colourful, whizz-bang-pop evening will become a regular event. I do look forward to it very much, and just love having all our lovely friends round to share in the fun. This year I went a bit mad and invited a great many more people than last year. As a result I've decided to ask people to come on a 'bring and share basis'. People will be bringing food and drink and also fireworks and sparklers to help the display go with a bang. We have bought a nice selection of fireworks with delicious names like 'fire phoenix' and 'jelly bean cascade' as well as fifteen paper night sky lanterns which will be a real treat. I'm just hoping that the forecast for Saturday evening will improve. At present, the BBC weather page tells me that there will be torrential rain on Saturday! Eeek! What will I do with 50 people if we can't go outside? Where will they sit?!? Our house is not very big and I may have to end up sitting people on the floor, but hey ho, I'm trying to be optimistic and praying that the weather will simply miss our little part of Bedfordshire out. Food wise, I'm going to do an ENORMOUS pan of chilli in my massive orange 'cauldron', and about a million sausages. Wish you could come too. XX

Your plans sound so lovely! Hoping that the weather gods will smile upon you.

There is something very generous about starting a tradition. Two years in a row ... that is how a tradition takes hold.

Cheers!
